In a video that has been viewed millions of times, Gov. Ron DeSantis asked a group of Hillsborough County High School students to remove their masks during his press conference at USF Wednesday morning on new state funding for cybersecurity education. Dawn Marshall told News Channel 8 she is very upset about how the governor spoke to her son and the other students, adding she had told him to wear a mask in school. “You do not have to wear those masks,” Gov. DeSantis said. “I mean, please take them off. Honestly, it’s not doing anything and we’ve gotta stop with this COVID theater. So if you want to wear it, fine, but this is ridiculous.”
Marshall said her initial reaction to seeing her Eric in the video was “he knows I’m gonna say something, his eyebrows went up and he looked shocked.”
“It’s just shocking that the governor told these kids take off your mask,” she said. “He pretty much said take off your mask, it’s stupid, and take off your mask your parents don’t matter.”
“I would tell (the governor) to stop bullying kids,” Kevin Brown Sr. told News Channel 8 in an exclusive interview. His son is one of the seven students from Middleton High School at the press conference.
Let me make sure I have this. Making kids wear masks for no good scientific or other reason is NOT bullying them, but telling them to take them off because they're fuckin' worthless IS bullying? Do I have that straight?

Republican Senator Lindsey Graham invoked a Julius Caesar-style assassination of Russian President Vladimir Putin during an appearance on Fox News ' Hannity show and in a series of incendiary tweets on Thursday. 'Is there a Brutus in Russia? he asked. 'Is there a more successful Colonel Stauffenberg in the Russian military?' he tweeted, referencing the army officer who attempted to kill Adolf Hitler. 'The only way this ends is for somebody in Russia to take this guy out. You would be doing your country - and the world - a great service,' his tweet continued.
Graham's call for Putin to be assassinated comes as the Russian leader continues to indiscriminately bomb cities after launching his savage invasion of Ukraine. Russian troops today seized Europe's largest nuclear power plant in Ukraine after a firefight that set part of the complex ablaze, with President Volodymyr Zelensky accused Putin of resorting to 'nuclear terror' and risking a catastrophe 'six times worse than Chernobyl' that would affect the whole continent. In a separate tweet Graham added that the responsibility of eliminating Putin laid solely in the hands of Russian citizens.
It prompted a furious response from the Russian ambassador to the US Anatoly Antonov called Graham's remarks 'unacceptable and outrageous' and demanded an explanation.
