'I'll make him an offer he can't refuse...'

Just when I was starting to forget about how old I feel, I see that 'The Godfather' was released to theaters 50 years ago this week.
50 friggin' years ago...

Could James Carville really be the stupidist fuck
in the entire world?  It's starting to look that way...

Democratic 'strategist' (is that something like a 'Tik-Tok Influencer'?) James Carville said Thursday on MSNBC’s “The Beat” that President Joe Biden was born to be president in this moment of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Melber said,  “The State of the Union is the night where people trying to watch other programs are forced to watch a president, and you see an eight-point bump.”
Carville said, "I think people were just involved because obviously, the situation in Ukraine. I think a lot of people want this president to succeed. He’s gotten nothing but praise for the way he handled this. "
FROM WHO YOU LYING FUCK?
"I’ve seen remarkable low criticism." He added, “So I mean, I think he was kind of almost experiencing like he was kind of born to be president at this moment. I hope that’s the case, and I think he’s done a good job so far, I really do.”
He added, “The foreign policy stuff, gas prices, and as this recovery is impressive. You know, in 1994, the economy in the United States was actually getting pretty good, and if you recall, we got slaughtered. By 1996, we were running on the economy. So if we just keep up these powerful numbers, it will start affecting the way that people look at it. If you see a lot of upside because they say, ‘Well, I’m not satisfied with the country but happy the way I am.’ So that tells you that there’s potential slack in this rope. So far, seeing these job numbers and what we see in the confidence that this president’s displaying — it’s a real crisis, I mean really bad stuff, I worked in Ukraine, many times — it’s encouraging. I think those numbers have really have potential for upside. I hope they do.”

I find this stuff to be truly fascinating. It's almost impossible to grasp the distances at which we can now see and understand.

In the constellation Virgo, twin galaxies NGC 4496A and NGC 4496B dominate the frame in this #HubbleFriday image. These galaxies appear close in proximity, but this couldn't be further from the truth!
NGC 4496A is nestled 47 million light-years from Earth, while NGC 4496B is 212 million light-years away. The magnitude of distance between the two suggests that they are not interacting and only appear to cross paths due to a sheer chance alignment.
Galactic dust - the dark tendrils threading through the galactic duo portrayed - is an added bonus to the beauty of astronomical images, but also complicates astronomers’ observations.
By scattering and absorbing blue light, dust obstructs stars in a process called “reddening” that makes them appear both dimmer and redder. By measuring how dust in the foreground galaxy affects starlight from the background galaxy, astronomers can map the dust in the foreground galaxy’s spiral arms.
The resulting “dust maps” help astronomers calibrate measurements of everything from cosmological distances to the types of stars populating these galaxies.

advocate for social justice. I thought she had gotten it in a hail of FBI lead back in the 70's.

That was pretty much my whole day yesterday. The only
good thing about having such a fucked-up day is that
you eventually go to bed. That's about it.

Joe Biden complained about Sen. Joe Manchin's digs on his agenda when he said 'one senator from West Virginia talks about how it's all social spending.' He pointed to the expanded child tax credit and climate programs in his stalled Build Back Better plan. He made the comment in a Substack interview. In case you've never heard of it, Substack is an online platform that provides publishing, payment, analytics, and design infrastructure to support subscription newsletters. It allows writers to send digital newsletters directly to subscribers. These are the people he's spending time talking to - some outfit nobody ever heard of.

This is how you can tell the whole world
really is upside-down these days...

Openly gay actor Ian McKellen (A: Who knew? B: Who cares?) has slammed woke demands for only gay actors to play gay roles, saying in a recent BBC interview, “we’re acting. We’re pretending.”
Ian McKellen was addressing growing calls among woke activists and journalists that characters in movies and TV shows should only be played by those actors of identical ethnicity and sexuality.
“Is the argument that a straight man cannot play a gay part, and if so, does that mean I can’t play straight parts and I’m not allowed to explore the fascinating subject of heterosexuality in Macbeth? Surely not. We’re acting. We’re pretending,” the Lord of Rings star reportedly said in the interview on BBC2.
McKellen played Shakespeare’s Macbeth in an acclaimed Royal Shakespeare Company production in 1976 that was also televised. Throughout his lengthy career, he has played straight and gay characters on stage and screen.

  1. Sorry, but Substack is used by many writers now BECAUSE they are not censored. Most have subscription services, you sign up to get their material. Many on this platform have been cancelled off of Tweetly Dee and Facedump. Someone, unusually, was smart to put the non-elected one in front of a Substack. That's where we, the non-media type, get our information; unfiltered. But, the non-elected one still comes across the same on any platform, lying and bumbling...
