'Operation Dexterity' - December 26, 1943. After the terrific bombardment which pulverized Japanese defenses on the beaches of New Britain, American troops swarmed ashore at Cape Gloucester in the northwest of New Britain, on December 26 1943 and firmly established a beachhead.

Princeton University students can’t leave the county except
for ‘extraordinary’ reasons under strict new COVID rules.
With COVID-19 cases rising, Princeton University is delaying students’ return to campus and imposing new rules requiring undergraduates to stay close to the school once they start classes.
Students at the Ivy League university, who are currently on a holiday break, can begin returning to campus on Jan. 14 — one week later than originally planned, according to a campus announcement issued Monday.
“Because the pandemic continues and the highly transmissible omicron variant presents yet another challenge to public health, the university has decided to organize a gradual return for undergraduate students,” Jill Dolan, the dean of the college wrote in a memo.
... Florida Governor Ron DeSantis wants President Joe Biden to scrap his 'useless' vaccine mandates after he told the leaders of 25 states that there is 'no federal solution' to the COVID-19 pandemic, his office said on Tuesday.
The Republican governors of Florida, South Dakota, Arizona and Texas plus a host of other GOP figures are calling on Biden to drop his sweeping vaccine order affecting a third of the American workforce, as well as his other nationwide COVID rules, following his comment. Out of the four just Arizona Governor Doug Ducey participated in the call. DeSantis' spokesperson said that the president is 'abdicating responsibility and shifting blame' to the states. 'More Americans have died of COVID-19 under Biden than under Trump. Now that Biden has admitted to the nation that he has no plan to “shut down the virus,” and that there is “no federal solution,” we expect him to withdraw the unconstitutional and useless federal vaccine mandates.'

Have a birthday or anniversary
I'm older than that she is and never left the workforce.
ReplyDeleteRegarding the "elderly" re-entering the work force.....wonder how they will be able to put up with the whiney, self absorbed, skinny pants twattle that inhabit the work place?
ReplyDeleteMasks when swimming...self water-boarding when they go under. Can't fix stupid.
ReplyDeleteI planned pretty well, so I'm not there yet. There are some great places to work here and if the time comes I'll know were to look.
ReplyDelete#1....The older age groups are the only ones reliably showing up for work. If they ain't dead, they'll be there.
ReplyDeleteI just love liberal logic. "I'm going to get a vasectomy to protest the abortion ban!" Good. So another liberal who won't have kids. Great! You liberals don't want kids, go for it. Fewer whacko voters in the future.
ReplyDeleteOlder people in the workforce articles come out every 4 years or so. How long have you seen the Wal-Mart greeter or had one taking your order at a fast food place.
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine myself ever not working somehow...
