And he did not die in uniform.
U.S. Navy Secretary Ray Mabus first publicly notified his intent to put Milk’s name on a “Military Sealift Command fleet oiler” back in 2016.
Mabus decided six new future oilers would be named after civil and human rights leaders. In addition to Milk, they include Sojourner Truth, Chief Justice Earl Warren, Robert F. Kennedy, suffragist Lucy Stone and Rep. John Lewis of Georgia.
I'm sure that there is plenty of Marines, Sailors, and heroic persons much as worthy as harvey milk. milk-socialist politician to the end-was indeed famous for getting shot in the office. not the first instance of a politician getting murdered while in office, and I suspect won't be the last.
ReplyDeleteBut, regardless of his other life's choices, he did serve in the USN. I suppose he had a Honorable Discharge from the Navy. we recognize that service, not his other life's choices. He had the public's eye and was an elected politician in office at the time of his murder. and. It's an oiler. let it go. An aircraft carrier I would be upset about. but a fleet oiler, ok. let it go.
Now, about naming a garbage scow after Obama and a sanitary liquids dump scow after His Fraudulence, why, I'm good with those choices. how about a target ship after Harris?
Thanks Cap...
ReplyDeleteActually ol' Harvey did do something: he helped build up Jim Jones, so he's definitely got a body count.
