I care about a bunch of stuff, but nothing so much
that I'd make a crusade about it...
I have one core philosophy.
'Don't kick my dog and I won't kick yours'.
And I don't even have a dog.

This is for everyone who has a genuine interest
in the History of our country and the people who serve it.
Please take the time to read all three pages of this. It is truly riveting.
My Dad was an 18 year old sailor on the LST USS Appallachian in the South Pacific during the war, He was a bookkeeper/librarian and a loader on a 40mm deck gun, so I'd imagine he saw a lot of action.
This is the first letter he was able to write (and get past the news blackout and censors) to his mother, my Grandmother Camille, relating his experiences during his first action at sea. He's describing to her the 'Battle of Leyte Gulf' - the action that will go down in history has the greatest and most ferocious sea battle of all times. I cannot imagine what his life was like then.
I'm proud to have been able to call him Dad.

Thanks to your and every other person's family's service, without which we'd have nothing to be thankful for.
