Do you think generations to come will have a work ethic like we did? I seriously doubt it...

I have to admit it. I had no idea who R. Kelly was, and now that I know, I don't give anymore or less a fuck than I did when I didn't know what I now know, so there. Juss' sayin'...

Every once in a while - not very often really - a big company does something that not only makes sense, but is genuinely nice of them. This trip - with non-refundable tickets - was booked originally in March 2020, just as the corona shit storm was kicking in and nobody was going anywhere.
I've since re-scheduled the trip over to see my brother three more times just to have the subsequent trips cancelled as well. United just extended the life of the flight vouchers through the end of next year. I hope that doesn't mean they know something we don't know, and that it's just good smart business on their part. Either way, thanks United.

N.J. to offer $500 ‘return-to-work’ bonuses, up to $10K for businesses to train new hires
As businesses continue to struggle with labor shortages throughout the country and state, New Jersey will offer $500 return-to-work bonuses for unemployed residents in their first paycheck after hiring and employers will be eligible for up to $10,000 in wage subsidies to hire and train new workers, Gov. Phil Murphy announced Monday.
Businesses must have 100 or fewer employees and the positions they’re looking to fill need to pay at least $15 an hour to be eligible for the subsidies, he said. His administration is calling it the Return and Earn Program.

The hell with front-porch package thieves.
THIS is the best reason to have one of those RING
doorbells - spotting meteors during daytime.
'It disintegrated 28 miles above Morehead City, after
traveling 26 miles through Earth’s upper atmosphere,'
NASA Meteor Watch said. No injuries or damages were reported.

Every once in a while I come across a gadget that I really like, and I'm happy to be able to tell you guys about it.
This is one of them.
I leave one out in the lanai now and it stays fully charged all the time. I just plug my phone in to it whenever I'm out there - and it keeps the phone at 100%. It's impressive. I bought another one that I keep in my truck.
For under $ 23 bucks, it's crazy not to have one. Even comes
with the charger cord. Click on the picture or this link:

we might have missed because we were young and stupid,

Space rocks 101: The difference between an
asteroid, meteorite and other space debris
An asteroid is a large chunk of rock left over from collisions or the early solar system. Most are located between Mars and Jupiter in the Main Belt.
A comet is a rock covered in ice, methane and other compounds. Their orbits take them much further out of the solar system.
A meteor is what astronomers call a flash of light in the atmosphere when debris burns up.
This debris itself is known as a meteoroid. Most are so small they are vaporized in the atmosphere.
If any of this meteoroid makes it to Earth, it is called a meteorite.
Meteors, meteoroids and meteorites normally originate from asteroids and comets.
For example, if Earth passes through the tail of a comet, much of the debris burns up in the atmosphere, forming a meteor shower.

The Town of Micanopy (mick-ah-No-pee) encompasses 1.03 square miles near the Alachua-Marion County line between Gainesville (home of the University of Forida) and Ocala (the horse capital of the world) in rural north- central Florida. Micanopy is no Metropolis - it only has a population of 594.
The town was named for Seminole Chief Micanopy (ca.1780-1849). Ancient oaks clothed in Spanish moss enfold Micanopy's narrow streets and dirt lanes and provide shade and Southern ambiance for visitors and families that have lived here for generations. Micanopy's appeal is based on its rich, sometimes savage history. Florida's aboriginal records show that Hernando De Soto encountered an early Timucua Indian Village here in 1539 and later, Pennsylvania botanist William Bartram visited a
Cuscowilla village on this site in 1774.
Micanopy is the oldest inland town in Florida having been included in a land grant made by the King of Spain in 1817 to Don Fernando del la Maza Arrendondo of Havana and St. Augustine.
