The politicization of damn near everything these days make my brain hurt.

It seems that no matter where you go, people and the media want everything to be about politics. THEIR politics...

And you've seen this enough times here
to know where I stand on this shit:

...

...

...

...

It's 1998, and it's the 70th Academy Awards. Billy Chrystal is the host of the show, and Titanic wins Best Picture and 10 other Awards. It's probably the last truly interesting Academy Awards Show.

That show was the most-watched Academy Awards ceremony in broadcast history, when an average of 55.25 million viewers tuned in to see the event.

Other winners that night included As Good as It Gets, Good Will Hunting, and L.A. Confidential with two awards each, and Character, The Full Monty, Geri's Game, The Long Way Home, and Men in Black, all with one each.
...

Viewership for ABC’s Oscars telecast plummeted to 9.85 million viewers - a drop of 84%, according to preliminary figures released Monday by Nielsen, continuing the trend of record-low viewership for awards shows that have become platforms for liberal jerkoffs hell-bent on lecturing us on whatever the fuck they wanna lecture us on.
Viewership for Sunday’s host-less ceremony held at Union Station dropped 58% from the 23.569-million average for the 2020 ceremony, which had been a record low.
The most-watched Academy Awards ceremony was the Billy Chrystal-hosted show in 1998, when an average of 55.25 million viewers tuned in at some point or another.
...

One large reason for the rush from viewing
and lack of interest in the show?

Obviously, Titanic was the last true blockbuster movie by old-school standards, but more importantly - why are people not watching the shows any more? Here's just one reason - they keep wanting to somehow make it all about issues:

The American people have grown sick and fuckin' tired of elitist Hollywood holier-than-thou jerkoffs telling us what to think, how to act and vote.

...

There's another very specific reason why Americans aren't watching anymore.

It's not that we, as a people in general, are inherently racist. We're not. Obviously some among us all are, but we cannot all be wrapped in that same cloth.

What we are is a nation of people who, for the most part, are or should be fiercely independent thinkers who despise having an agenda of any kind rammed down our throats. We want - and demand - that we be allowed to think for ourselves.

Nowadays the media paints everything that happens in society in racial tones. We're getting sick and tired of that kind of bullshit, and that's a big reason why these awards shows suck as much as they do. The people on the show - the elitist Hollywooders - think we give a shit about fuckin' nonsense. We don't. So shut the fuck up and talk.
...

So, to paraphrase a friend of mine,
 here's what we say:

Obviously and thankfully not. What do I think of Oscar?
