Every once in a while you have to be reminded again
of the greatness in some people.
The news every day is so full of conflict, embarrassment, corruption and dishonor it's hard to hold on to your faith in your fellow man.
This is Robert D. Maxwell.
And this from the Citation for his Medal of Honor:
"For conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity at risk of life above and beyond the call of duty on 7 September 1944, near Besancon, France. Technician 5th Grade Maxwell and 3 other soldiers, armed only with .45 caliber automatic pistols, defended the battalion observation post against an overwhelming onslaught by enemy infantrymen in approximately platoon strength, supported by 20mm. flak and machinegun fire, who had infiltrated through the battalion's forward companies and were attacking the observation post with machinegun, machine pistol, and grenade fire at ranges as close as 10 yards.
Despite a hail of fire from automatic weapons and grenade launchers, Technician 5th Grade Maxwell aggressively fought off advancing enemy elements and, by his calmness, tenacity, and fortitude, inspired his fellows to continue the unequal struggle. When an enemy hand grenade was thrown in the midst of his squad, Technician 5th Grade Maxwell unhesitatingly hurled himself squarely upon it, using his blanket and his unprotected body to absorb the full force of the explosion.
This act of instantaneous heroism permanently maimed Technician 5th Grade Maxwell, but saved the lives of his comrades in arms and facilitated maintenance of vital military communications during the temporary withdrawal of the battalion's forward headquarters."
Technician 5th Grade Maxwell: We humbly salute you and thank you for your life and your service. Maxwell died in 2019.

Trump defends Texas drivers who surrounded Biden bus, while the president’s supporters block traffic in New York and New Jersey.
Trump supporters in New York finally starting to show some balls blocked the Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge on Sunday.
In several instances over the last few days, supporters of President Trump have disrupted traffic. In Texas on Friday, Trump supporters surrounded a Biden campaign bus, and in New York and New Jersey on Sunday, Trump supporters halted traffic on two major highways.
On Sunday, the F.B.I. said it was investigating the Texas incident, which Mr. Biden described as an effort to run his team “off the road.” But Mr. Trump defended the Texas drivers in a post on Twitter on Sunday night, saying, “In my opinion, these patriots did nothing wrong. Instead, the FBI & Justice should be investigating the terrorists, anarchists, and agitators of ANTIFA, who run around burning down our Democrat run cities and hurting our people!”

I've been thinking a lot about how divisive the country has become, and I think it goes back quite a while, but certainly it got much worse during the last administration.
Obama was most certainly a divider - it was him who constantly harped on the black/white bullshit, forcing new age bullshit down the throats of people that just didn't want them.

Ya can't win for losing, Boris. No matter what ya do, no matter what direction ya go in, some jerkoff somewhere's gonna get on yer shit. Why the fuck would anyone ever want a job like that?
... Now you guys have to know by now how much I fuckin' HATE politics, and that feeling gets stronger every single fuckin' day. The greed, the hunger for power and control, the maniacal obsession with 'my way or the highway' - I fuckin' hate every aspect of it. But politics isn't just like a swamp,it is a swamp. The moment you get too close it pulls you in kicking and screaming. I fuckin' hate everything about it.
I have to say this one thing - I don't want to be friends with anyone who will be voting for Joe Biden. Fuck differences of opinion and all that bullshit. Some people's hatred of Trump is so visceral, so glowingly real, it's hard for me to even grasp. Anger and hatred make people do stupid shit - we all know that.
If you're willing put a man in power - the single-most important job in the entire fuckin' world - who's as much an adle-brained political whore as Biden is? Fuck you. Get away from me. That simple.

LOL on the Chef Boy Ar-Dee and toss in Franco American too. All the regular American kids were eating it and we wanted it too,my mother finally broke down and would make it for lunch sometimes. We were sworn to secrecy as to not tell our father. Well he eventually found out and issued a family favorite edict on the subject. "I don't care what shit you feed the kids for lunch when I'm not around but if you ever put it in front of me I'll throw it right out the window" We still joke about that. My dad pretty much felt the same about almost all American food, hot dogs, hamburgers & chili too
