I'm Eight Miles High and live.

The Fillmore East was a great place for great Rock & Roll back in the late 60's and early 70's...

For those of us lucky enough to have been there, it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience, no matter how many times you did get to go.

The Byrds - Eight Miles High -
9/23/1970 - Fillmore East

Listen to this - especially the middle/end where it's just Hillman and Clarke in maybe one of the best one/two rhythm sections you could ever wanna hear. Guitar work is (and always was) kinda sloppy, but it works for what it was.

Hillman's bass is crisp and really alive, and for playing such a small set, Clarke is a brilliant, damn near 'intelligent' drummer.

The original five-piece lineup of the band consisted of Jim (Roger) McGuinn (lead guitar, vocals), Gene Clark (tambourine, vocals), David Crosby (rhythm guitar, vocals), Chris Hillman (bass guitar, vocals), and Michael Clarke (drums).

I've said it before and I'll say it again. It's important to surround yourself with idiots...

How else are you going to know how smart you are  if you don't have something to compare to ...      ...      Of course she's from C...
