Who can we hate today? It's tiring - really.

I wish TV was never invented. Sorta...

That's a rose from my backyard garden. One of the great things about living here in North Central Florida is that year-round the weather is perfect for roses.

MLB announces 60-game season for 2020; Opening Day will be July 23 or 24. Players will report to 'spring' training by July 1

Major League Baseball is finally set to return. The MLB Players Association informed the league Tuesday that players will comply with commissioner Rob Manfred's imposed outline for a 60-game 2020 season. Players are set report for another version of "spring" training on July 1, and the regular season will start either July 23 or 24, the league announced.

The two sides also finalized coronavirus health and safety protocols on Tuesday night. Play ball, motherfuckers!

After mass Sunday morning we can both go over to Bernie's Sweet Shoppe for a Cherry Coke.

The broadcaster has a narrative that they want to project and make it look legit, so they go out and find a talking head people recognize who will reinforce the narrative. THAT is the way the media plays today.

This is just a small section of the back room/garage at a cypress wood stand up outside of Starke, FL on Rte. 301 (I think that's the road).
Anyway, the guy has a couple hundred thousand - yes, the number is accurate - Coca-Cola bottles stored there for something or the other. I'm sure he had a plan for them at some point.

I love any headline that starts with 'Florida man'

A Florida man reportedly stole, crashed and then abandoned a yacht worth almost $1 million in March, evading police for three months before being arrested last week. The nautical no-gooder, 28-year-old Donovan Russell Jester, stole the boat from a dock in St. Petersburg, Florida, then left it after crashing it into channel-marker pilings, according to the Pinnellas County Sheriff’s Office.

The boat then drifted into a nearby oyster bed, where it was discovered by local deputies. They were able to identify Jester by a thumbprint left on the cabin door. He was charged with grand theft vessel for the joyride, and faces up to 30 years in prison. The stolen yacht was identified by authorities as a 46-foot Jeanneau Leader worth $900,000.

Here's another guy I usta like...

“I think we’re in the middle of an enormous reckoning right now in which the anxieties and the pains and the torments of injustice are bubbling up to the surface,” Burns said. “It’s very important for people like me, of my complexion, to it be as quiet as possible and to listen. What I know from my reading of history is that the confederate monuments have to go.” Burns then noted that much of the Confederate iconography was installed during waves of backlash to the freeing of the slaves and enfranchising of African-Americans that occurred decades after the Civil War.

“They’re an attempt to rewrite history and to essentially celebrate a false narrative about what happened during the Civil War and to send the wink-winks, the dog whistles, as we’re fond of saying today, across the generations of what the Civil War was about,”

Wink winks. Jeez.

New Jersey residents are now required to wear a mask in certain areas of state parks and forests, park officials announced. According to a post shared by officials on the State Park Service’s Facebook page, visitors must wear masks in and around all gatehouses, restrooms and reopened park buildings.

Officials explained that face coverings have become obligatory as state parks and forests continue to reopen its services, because with “more amenities, visitors will be in contact with others more often.”

PS: In the state of Washington, if you do not wear a mask in public you will now be arrested.

Mount Rushmore won’t face a revisionist reckoning anytime soon as statues of former Presidents George Washington and Thomas Jefferson face renewed scrutiny, South Dakota’s governor said Wednesday.

Gov. Kristi Noem promised to protect the famed monument honoring Washington and Jefferson, as well as former Presidents Abraham Lincoln and Theodore Roosevelt, amid calls to remove statues of Confederate generals nationwide. “This is no longer about equality,” Noem told Fox News on Wednesday. “This is a rewriting of our history and in South Dakota we won’t stand for it.”

It's not like those Antifa dooshbags could tip that fucker over.

The school board in Oakland, California, unanimously voted on Wednesday to dismantle the school district’s police department — making the district the latest to cut ties with law enforcement amid nationwide anti-racism protests.

Oakland Unified School District has its own police department, with over 120 officers and other personnel working in the district, which serves over 35,000 students, most of whom are Black and brown. Nineteen California school districts have their own police forces, including in Los Angeles.

(It's worth noting here that the school district is on the verge of bankruptcy and is facing a state takeover)

It’s a tristate turnabout. As New York, New Jersey and Connecticut continue to move forward with their respective reopening plans, anyone traveling to those states from coronavirus hotspots like Florida and Texas will be subject to a 14-day quarantine and steep fines if they don’t self-isolate, Gov. Cuomo announced Wednesday.

The advisory applies to anyone coming from a state with a COVID-19 transmission rate above 10 per 100,000 people on a seven-day rolling average or 10% of the total population testing positive on a seven-day rolling average.

  1. It is possible that the unnamed girl is Anastasia Shchlegova. I, too, have scoured the internet for her name, and there are a number of Shchlegova photographs that look like her.

  3. Search I just did led me to a German fortune-teller's FB page with a link out to this, saying she's a fortune-teller who calls herself "Nephele." Probably a stage name. No idea how one would find out a real name short of booking a reading and going to Germany to see if the pic's even real or just some stock image.

    https://www.esophia.de/berater/Nephele.html

Most of the search result were just generic "pretty girl" or "perfect complexion" or "blonde bombshell" so I'd guess it's actually some nameless model.

    1. Kinda reminds me of the German model Lena Gercke, but doesn't look quite the same, and since the search I did led to a German site it might simply be an odd "brain tries to find a correlation" thing.
