Ironbound, the great white shark
Tourists and snowbirds aren't the only ones spending the holidays around South Florida. A 12-foot, 4-inch long great white shark that researchers have named Ironbound has been tracked to the waters south of Key Biscayne, near Miami. The adult male shark weighs 998 pounds, according to the group OCEARCH, which tagged and is tracking the shark.
Ironbound was caught and tagged on October 3 off Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, and has traveled 1,473 miles down the US East Coast since then. He's named after West Ironbound Island, which is near where he was caught.
It's been a busy week for the shark trackers. OCEARCH said that seven of its tagged sharks have pinged with their location in recent days.

At least 2 dead, 6 hurt when rap video filming location was ‘ambushed’ by shooters
HOUSTON – At least two people were killed and six others were injured in a drive-by shooting in north Harris County neighborhood Friday night, according to the Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez. Officials believe there may be victims in the shooting.
At about 9:30 p.m. Friday, Gonzalez said a group of Hispanic men in their early 20s were filming a rap music video near the 500 block of Smart Street which is near the North Freeway and West Gulf Bank. The men were filming in the parking lot of an office park that is surrounded by homes.
Shooters, who were either in cars or on foot, “ambushed” the group, Gonzalez said. It is unknown how many suspects there were or how they arrived at the filming location.
