Dancing in the rain

I've mentioned it before -
I really like where I live now...

The Villages is the largest development of it's type in the world. Mostly,  but not all, seniors and retirees - it's a surprisingly lively, incredibly active and diverse community. It's around 70% full-time and 30% snow-bird residents, and it's just crazy big in scale. and scope. There are about 125,000 residents here. It's so big it actually encompasses 3 different counties. In 2017 Forbes named The Villages to the list of The 25 Best Places To Retire in the United States for the second time.

Here's the developer's website if you're interested in more info.

There are three distinctly different 'Town Squares' in the development and every night of the week, 365 days a year there's free, live entertainment  in each of them. Even on shitty, drizzly crappy kinda nights like last night the band plays on,  in spite of a lack of audience.

As I said, it's mostly retirees, but once in a while there's children and grand-kids about, and one very special one was in our Spanish Springs town square last night.

Meet little Harper and her mom Stephanie:

This little girl was so full of joy, so exuberant and lively and just having SO MUCH FUN, I had to introduce her to you. Sorry for the video quality, but you get the picture.

Kids like her restore your
love of life.
