What hit Cherry Hill last night?
A downburst with 70 mph winds hit Cherry Hill overnight.
It always amazes me how little people understand about the weather, even though every one of us experiences it every day of our lives.
While several New Jersey towns got doused with heavy rain from brief thunderstorms Saturday night, one community got slammed with 70 mph winds from a violent downburst that toppled trees, knocked out power and forced road closures.
Cherry Hill residents were still assessing the damage on Sunday from what the National Weather Service described as a “strong downburst" as the thunderstorms marched across the state.

Meanwhile, out west an early fall storm buries Rocky Mountains, parts of 8 states with record amounts of snow
Pedestrians make their way along a snow covered street lined with trees that still have their leaves during a fall snowstorm in Helena, Mont., on Sunday,
Must be a 'climate crisis'
One week after summer's end, a "winter" storm began blasting parts of the West with up to 3 feet of snow, smashing records with low temperatures, heavy snow, strong winds and blizzard conditions forecast into Monday. Snow was piling up across parts of California, Oregon, Washington, Montana, Idaho, Nevada and Utah. The National Weather Service, calling the storm "historic," said temperatures in some areas would drop as much as 30 degrees below normal.
"Many daily record low maximum temperature records are possible through Monday, especially across the Northern Great Basin, Rockies and Northern California," the weather service said. "An unprecedented winter storm (is) throwing our state a surprise in September," said Montana Gov. Steve Bullock, who declared a winter storm emergency in his state.
High winds downed trees and power lines, temporarily closing some roads and triggering cellular and power outages. The town of Browning, near Glacier National Park, recorded 40 inches of snow Sunday.
That's sorta why they don't call it 'Global warming' any more, huh?

How could this be even
remotely true?
This is how the news is skewed and we are screwed.
According to CBS News - and this is exactly as it appears on their website: more than half of Americans — and an overwhelming number of Democrats — say they approve of the fact that Congress has opened an impeachment inquiry into President Trump. But as the inquiry begins, there is no national consensus on how to assess the president's actions.
Partisans have immediately and predictably split: most Democrats call the president's handling of matters with Ukraine illegal, and deserving of impeachment.
Most Republicans call his actions proper — or, even if improper, then still legal — and feel they're an example of things that past presidents typically did, too. Most Americans think that because Congress is now taking up the matter, it will be unable to work on other issues.
Almost nine in 10 Democrats approve of the inquiry, and two-thirds strongly approve. Prior to the inquiry, some had wondered if taking up impeachment proceedings might divide a Democratic rank-and-file that has been long concerned with other policies like health care and guns. However, these findings suggest that it this is not the case: most moderate Democrats side with liberal Democrats in supporting impeachment proceedings. Of those who say they voted for a Democratic House candidate in 2018, nine in 10 feel this inquiry is necessary.
Did CBS call all 340 million of us? If not, how do the make that statement?
They lie, twist the truth, and make shit up and those of us not smart enough to understand what's going on by in to it hook, line and sinker.

They don't get paid to be smart - they're paid to be cute and funny. I think...

Meanwhile, out in the Atlantic...
Be thankful this SOB won't hit land any time soon.
Hurricane and tropical storm watches have been issued for the Azores ahead of Hurricane Lorenzo's close swipe by the northeast Atlantic islands early this week.
Lorenzo has weakened from its brief stint as a Category 5 hurricane over the weekend, smashing a record for the easternmost Atlantic hurricane to attain such a strong intensity. But Lorenzo should still bring a burst of strong winds, locally heavy rain and pounding surf to the Azores.
Hurricanes are brutal storms and need to be taken very seriously. Everybody just loses their frikkin' minds when they're coming, and justifiably so.
I know what they can do - I've lived through a CAT 5. It sucks.

I'd pay a LOT of money to see this happen in live front of me.

Looks like a Yankees / Astros matchup may happen after all.
If you haven't seen the playoff match-ups yet, here they are:
I'd like to see a Yankees/Dodgers World Series. How about you?

More bad news for Bernie - this whackjob's campaign may finally
be in trouble:
With just four months until the Iowa caucuses, Bernie the Commie is in trouble. As he delivered his 'populist gospel' to crowds of camouflage-clad high schoolers, liberal arts college students, and trade union members across Iowa last week, a problematic narrative was hardening around him: His campaign is in disarray and Elizabeth Warren has eclipsed him as the progressive standard-bearer of the primary. He’s sunk to third place nationally, behind Warren and Joe Biden, and some polls of early nomination states show him barely clinging to double digits. He’s shaken up his staffs in Iowa and New Hampshire. He’s lost the endorsement of the Working Families Party, a left-wing group that backed him in 2016, to Warren.
Dismissed out of the gate in 2016 as a nonfactor against Hillary Clinton — only to single-handedly shift the Democratic Party’s ideological center of gravity — Sanders is quite familiar with being left for dead. His top brass' official line is that pundits and political elites are writing him off because they have no clue what’s happening at kitchen tables and picket lines across America. Sanders and his team have argued some polls that are bad for him are out of whack and several polls that are good for him are ignored by the media.
The idea that so many people actually buy in to this guy's commie bullshit scares the livin' fucking crap outta me.

Anent the polls, here's how they skewed it.

You hate politics? So do I. Those fucktards come off as old farts with pre-k intellects, "Look at Me!!! I'm a lawmaker who signs off on the legislation the lobbyists and donors write up for me!" Overpaid attention-seeking whores. And for some reason I'm flashing The Right Honorable Gov. William J. Le Petomane (Mel Brooks from Blazing Saddles)
