We certainly do live in interesting times...
Wanna know how the world thinks about us?
They think we're crazy.
These bullshit fuckin' "George Floyd riots" are spiraling out of control. Chaos and destruction broke out in 25 major cities from New York to LA as protesters torched cop cars, burnt down buildings and hurled fireworks at riot police on fifth night of violence. Truly shameful.
...
Do ya think it's time to finally get rid of the masks and get on with our lives? I do.
...
And then there's this jerkoff...

American servicemen drive in jeeps through an unidentified and nearly completely destroyed town, Italy, May 1944. These guys were probably still teenagers at that time. THIS is why we honor our veterans on Memorial Day. Thank all of you who have served or supported our defenders of freedom and liberty.
The 46,328-ton passenger ship Titanic was launched on this date without a hitch at Belfast. The launch of the White Star Liner Titanic took place at Harland & Wolff's yard. The Titanic the twin sister to the Olympic, constructed at the same yard, and which was lying in Belfast Lough awaiting inspection by the White Star directorate before proceeding to Southampton to participate in the New York service.

I coulda gone. I shoulda gone.
It's only an hour away from my house.
Trump said yesterday that 'a new age of American ambition has now begun' in a post-launch address. 'You can't be number one on earth if you are number two in space. We are not going to be number two anywhere,' Trump made his remarks after the Falcon 9 rocket launch from Cape Kennedy.
NASA and SpaceX launched the rocket to the to the International Space Station - a roughly 24 hour journey.
Astronauts Bob Behnken and Doug Hurley took off in Crew Dragon atop Falcon 9 at 3.22pm Eastern Time. Hurley and Behnken are set to dock with the ISS in 24 hours where they will join the Expedition 63 crew. Thousands packed beaches along the Space Coast and the Florida towns of Titusville and Cocoa Beach.

This is Barbara Stanwyck in the screwball comedy 'The Lady Eve' (Co-starring with Henry Fonda and Directed by Preston Sturges in 1941) wearing a gown designed by Edith Head. One of my all time favorite movies.

The headline says 'George Floyd protesters' swarm Beverly Hills and LOOT high-end stores on Rodeo Drive as 500 people are arrested in LA in scenes eerily similar to the 1992 race riots that left the city in ruins.
They aren't protesters. They're fuckin' thieves and scumbags. Why can't the press say shit honestly? They can't possibly be worried about offending these fuckin' jerkoffs...

The Coronavirus crisis:
Power went to Phil Murphy’s head,
but not his brain
This is written by Paul Mulshine - a Star-Ledger (my hometown Newark, NJ's morning paper) Editorial Columnist
“Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.” So goes the famous quote from Lord Acton, who was an outspoken critic of oppressive government in the nineteenth century. That saying would seem to apply to a certain governor of New Jersey in the 21st century.
Phil Murphy seemed like a reasonable enough guy until this coronavirus crisis came along. Then he started issuing decrees like this one: “It shall be the duty of every person or entity in this State …. to cooperate fully in all matters concerning this Executive Order, and to cooperate fully with Administrative Orders issued pursuant to this Executive Order.”
When I’ve asked Murphy whether he intends to continue ruling indefinitely by executive order, he said that’s not his intention. But he’s given no date for giving up those powers.
One recent quote was particularly ominous.“Until either a proven vaccine is in our midst, or proven therapeutics are widely available we cannot firmly enter the ‘new normal’ which eventually awaits us when life will once again return to all our workplaces, downtowns and main streets,” Murphy said during one of his regular COVID-19 briefings in Trenton.

Do ya need a change of scenery or maybe a little adventure?
Maybe this'll work for ya:
This Italian Town is selling
all its Old Houses for $1.00 each.
Ollolai, a destination in the mountain region of Barbagia on the Mediterranean island of Sardinia, is selling hundreds of abandoned homes for just €1 ($1.23).
The 200 stone-built dwellings up for grabs are in poor condition and buyers must commit to a refurbishment within three years — which will likely cost about $25,000. In the past half century, Ollolai’s population has shrunk from 2,250 to 1,300, with only a handful of babies born each year.
Formerly Barbagia’s capital, Ollolai remains the most untouched and authentic patch of Sardinia. Once buzzing, its maze of alleys and mural-covered piazzas are now silent, as younger residents have been lured away to bigger cities.

I gotta tell ya. In the old days when I was on the Newark PD (for a very short time but that's a story for another day) we would have NEVER ever abandoned our Precinct House.
We'da had guys on the roof with Thompsons and shotguns in every window in the place.
We woulda defended it like it was the fuckin' Alamo.
I cannot believe these fuckin' guys ran away like they did - what a buncha fuckin' pussies. Jeez.

These numbers are so minuscule as to almost be irrelevant, but if ya listen to and watch the news, you'd think it was the wrath of God fighting alongside fire-and-brimstone. Jeez. Enough already.
