They're boycotting Walmart. Yeah - like that'll put a dent in sales....

A Walmart boycott, organized by The People's Union USA (whoever the fuck that is*), is underway from April 7 to 14, 2025, and targets all Walmart stores, online platforms, and affiliated services, including Sam's Club, in protest of what organizers see as corporate greed and DEI policy rollbacks. The People's Union USA, led by John Schwarz, views the boycott as a form of economic resistance against perceived corporate practices, including tax avoidance, rising prices, and stagnant wages.
Walmart, along with other companies, has faced criticism for rolling back DEI programs, which the boycott organizers see as a step backward. The boycott is also framed as a response to what organizers see as corporate greed, with companies raking in billions while families struggle to afford basic necessities.
Walmart announced in late 2024 that it would no longer participate in the Human Rights Campaign's annual benchmark index, which reflects a company's DEI practices. Walmart rolled back DEI policies, including no longer considering race and gender when making decisions about suppliers, ending various diversity programs, and removing the words "diversity" and "DEI" from documents in favor of language about "belonging.

* - People’s Union USA is an organization that supports radical-left economic-policy goals in the United States. Founded in February 2025, it organized what it called an “Economic Blackout” on February 28, 2025, under which supporters would refuse to shop with major retailers or engage in a complete one-day boycott of spending money. The organization’s founder, John Schwarz, is a meditation teacher who reportedly raised approximately $100,000 to support People’s Union USA in just over a month of operations.

  1. Shame on Walmart!
They should have stuck with rooster eggs instead of depending on eggs laid by hens.
    Rooster eggs are much healthier.

  2. I normally hate going to Walmart because of the customers. If they're all going to boycott during that time, I guess I can go and stock up.

  3. I'd say the boycott is a wizard time to go shop at WallyWorld; none of the "colorful" people will be there.

  4. So they're okay with USAID, countries ripping us off with tariffs and gov corruption but Walmart is the problem.

    1. Should you not be happy, Walmart sells mostly Chinese stuff?

  5. That should lower the level of shoplifting by about a 90% margin.

  6. So... let me guess, loss by theft will be down severely during the protest. Thus proving removing DEI is the right thing to do.

  7. If they boycott Walmart, the losses through 'five-finger discounts' are going to go down.

  8. I wonder how much of that $100,000 came from the US taxpayers, thru one Gov't organization or another.
