The criminals, dressed all in black and carrying hammers, stormed a jewelry store there and began smashing display cases as shocked customers and workers cowered in fear. The masked bandits snatched up pricey pieces that included diamonds, rings, necklaces, earrings and luxury watches - including the Rolexes worth more than $1 million all on their own.

In both cases, those numbers ended up below already pessimistic projections.
Snow Woke did earn the distinction of breaking a record — a record for the lowest opening weekend of any Disney live-action remake. Previously, 2019’s Dumbo held that record with $46 million. We are almost through the first quarter of the year, a quarter that has been brutal for Hollywood. The biggest “hit” thus far is Captain America: Brave New World which, like Snow Woke, will lose a fortune for Marvel and the Disney Grooming Syndicate.

Some states with low or no individual income tax, like Texas and Florida, are attracting lots of new residents — but could find themselves in trouble in a world with less federal financial aid - at least according to a report on Axios.com. By the numbers: California (13.3%), Hawaii (11%) and New York (10.9%) have the highest top marginal income tax rates for individuals. Arizona and North Dakota (both 2.5%) have the lowest among states with an income tax.
Florida has no State income tax and has a balanced budget year after year with no lack of social services. It's worth noting every one of the States with the highest income taxes is Demorat controlled, and every one of the states mentioned with the highest income taxes is under water year after year, spending themselves into massive debts with no way out. There's a lesson there - it's live withing your means.

Dollar General is planning to close nearly 100 stores by 2026. The dollar store chain announced it would close 96 Dollar General locations and 45 pOpshelf locations. Although the store closings might seem like a bleak future for the company, Dollar General plans to open “575 new stores in the U.S. and up to 15 new stores in Mexico,” as well as remodel more than 4,000 existing stores. The closures also represent less than 1% of the dollar store chain’s overall footprint.
So - what's the takeaway from this? Simple - some of their stores aren't working out as well as they thought. Nothing more. It's not a statement about the economy or Amazon or anything else. In rural America, these stores are a godsend...

The Austin Police Department's bomb squad unit was deployed to the dealership, where they determined the devices were incendiary. Authorities collected the devices without incident. The FBI was assisting Austin police at the showroom.

New York CNN — South Korea-based Hyundai and President Donald Trump announced a $20 billion investment in US on-shoring on Monday, which includes a $5 billion steel plant in Louisiana, at the White House Monday. The $5.8 billion Louisiana facility will be the car manufacturers’ first steel manufacturing facility in the US and will produce more than 2.7 million metric tons of steel a year and create more than 1,400 jobs. It will supply steel to auto plants in Alabama and Georgia, Trump said in remarks at the White House.
The announcement this afternoon at the White House included Trump, Hyundai Chairman Euisun Chung and Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry.
