How much would you pay to walk around in a crowd watching some guy hit a little ball? (Asking for a friend)

Getting last-moment tickets to see the final round of The Masters will cost a pretty penny, as multiple online websites have the cheapest options being worth at least $8,000.00 - and that's before the website fees.
The final round of the Masters, arguably the most prestigious golf tournament of the year, will feature Rory McIlroy and Bryson DeChambeau in the final pairing vying for a Green Jacket.
General tickets for the event are long gone, leading to a 'competitive' market for the remaining tickets available. McIlroy is chasing his first Green Jacket and ending his long streak without a major-tournament victory. Purse for first is $ 4,200,000.00.

Being able to present what my wife creates is the best reason I have
for doing this, and besides, what else would I do with all this free time?

  1. I watch some golf on tv just to see what various parts of the country look like. I don't get why people would stand around in the heat swatting bugs or in the cold to watch it though. If something amazing happens it will be on YouTube. Like that little girl who made a hole in one with a simple tap.

  2. I would go in with a negotiating position of $10K. But I wouldn't do it for less than $5K.

  3. I have a friend that gets tickets every year. He inherited his spot on the list. They have been getting tickets since the 60's. Round access is $400 and this includes the practice rounds. He will throw me 2 practice tickets or day 2 or 3 every couple of years.

  4. In the world of Sportsball, there are few games more unworthy of a grown man's time than golf. Twain or someone called it a good walk ruined, and that is about the size of it, actually it has become a game for posers in the upwardly mobile class who dress in golf fashion for each other like women while cheating at every opportunity, The only thing worse than golf itself is watching golf as a spectator, and the adoring pro circuit golf clappers and the more frequently seen wahooing super fans are a sickening sight. If you catch them following a favorite golfer around a course on tv. they literally run and stampede over each other from hold to hole to get the best obstructed view of the little ball rolling over the turf. Get a life people. The idea that someone would pay that much to be a golf groupie spectator is beyond comprehension.

    3. A pleasant walk, spoiled; and you don't even have the satisfaction of hitting the little white ball with your stick!

  5. Paging Mr Johnson...wonder what that Ryder Cup spectator that sunk a put Rory couldn't thinks now? For the rest of his life he can brag he beat a champion at his own game, if only for one hole!
