Why are they always so angry about everything?

Ya know, I like a good joke or a deserved kick in the shorts as much as anybody, but there are times, like nowadays, when they stop being humorous and stay just plain mean. I follow a number of artists over a number of collections and I find it a fascinating fact how the loonie leftie cartoonists - who can be mean as fuck when they want to - out number whoever their opposites would be by a factor of probably four to one. Fascinating that that rario - left v. right - doesn't play out in the population, does it. Just goes to show you how tilted MSM really is these days I guess.

We tend to glorify some things don't don't deserve the glory. Take this place for example. I can tell you from first-hand experience having been there myself (the see The Knack on thier first night in the States) that it was an absolute shithole - to crowded, too dirty, even too smelly. BUT - without this shithole, we might never have known of Blondie, The Ramones, The Knack, The Cars, Talking Heads and whole list of other good artists who got their start there. And don't get me started on the Palace Hotel. Suffice to say it wasn't worthy of royaly. 

Opened in December 1973 by Hilly Kristal, the club's full name was CBGB & OMFUG, standing for "Country, Bluegrass, Blues, and Other Music For Uplifting Gourmandizers". 

Despite its intended genres, it quickly became universally famous as the birthplace and epicenter of American punk rock and new wave music. 

The club closed its doors for good on October 15, 2006, after a rent dispute, with Patti Smith playing the final concert. 

The location remains a pilgrimage site for music fans, and its legacy continues to influence music, fashion, and art worldwide.
