Need a gift idea for someone special?
You still have to order for Christmas...

PS: Barb asked me to remind those of you that may have an item 'in your cart'
on her Etsy page  that if  you want it, you better buy it, because having it 'in
your  cart' does not make it unavailable for others. Other shoppers can still
purchase the item if it is not marked 'sold'. Thanks...

Florida man arrested after allegedly snatching cows
from fields in Oxford...

A Wildwood, Florida man was arrested for the theft of three cows when one of the owner’s recognized his truck parked at a residence.
A deputy met with a victim of livestock theft on County Road 231 in Oxford at 5:35 p.m. Monday, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. He believed he had found the person, later identified as 20-year-old Landon Dean Hogan, who had stolen one of his cows and two of his neighbor’s cows.
He explained that Hogan, who was standing outside of the residence at the time, possibly went onto his property to steal a cow and did the same to his neighbor. He recognized the same Dodge truck that was previously on his property as the same one parked in front of the residence on County Road 231, the report said.

After speaking to Hogan, the deputy arrested him for three counts of grand theft (commercially farmed animals) and two counts of trespassing. He was transported to the Sumter County Detention Center and released for posting $9,500 bond.

Tidy up or pay the fiddler...

This house is about four blocks from my house, and, yes, it is a shithole. A Villager has been given one week to remove debris from his property, or he will face daily fines. The property owned by Stephen ****** at 540 St. Andrews Blvd. on the 'Historic Side of The Villages*' was the subject of a deed compliance hearing this week at the District Office at Brownwood.
A complaint was received Sept. 23 by Community Standards regarding debris throughout the yard and carport. Photographs presented as evidence at the hearing showed golf carts, a kayak, exercise equipment, chairs, a fan, a ladder and other items around the exterior of the home.
Attempts by Community Standards (the clean neighborhood nazis here) to contact the homeowner have been unsuccessful. Phone numbers on file were not accepting calls and emails were returned as undeliverable. In November, a notice of the upcoming hearing was sent to the homeowner by regular mail and by certified mail.
The owner was given seven days to clean up the debris and bring his home into 'compliance'. If he fails to do so, he will face an initial $150 fine followed by $50 daily fines that will accrue until the property is brought up to neighborhood standards...
(*Historic side references my neighborhood - the very first area built by the original developer of The Villages.)

He was a talented guy, I'll give him that...

Tom Stiglich is one of my favorite editorial cartoonists. He has a way of ver simply capturing the essence of a person or an issue that I appreciate and relate to. In this case, he certainly portrays the scope of Reiner's body of work, which was substantial by any measure, but there's a back story to that guy that some may not be aware of.
My friend Mark Simone demonstrated how it was possible for Trump to say what he did about the guy. Reiner WAS a TDS-afflicted hater, and he wasn't quite about it - in fact he made it a point every chance he got to bash Trump on every signal issue he could. He was relentless in his efforts on social media. This is a classic example of a guy who thought his shit didn;t stink and his opinion mattered. Truth was, it didn't - unless he was preaching to the choir of his Hollywood elitist buddies. Here's some examples of how far he went.If you can't read 'em, open thic pic in a new window or enlarge your screem size...

I wanna ask you guys a serious question about this blog
and it's content and style - and format - or lack thereof...
The readership of the blog has held steady at just under 10,000 +/- every day, and that's something I'm really proud of. But the number is static - it's held at about that number for around a year. Would it help gain me readers if I stuck to just talking about the news? Ya see, I really don't wanna do that.
My intent when I started this thing six years ago (January 24, 2019, to be exact)  was just to have a place to share ideas and items that I found interesting, and I didn't wanna do it on social media, because that has been nothing but clutter and bullshit for at least ten years now. So, my question is - are you guys okay with my no-format format? I am, but that's juss' me sayin'...

Seems like it was just last week, but it was forty years ago last night, just before 5:30 p.m., that a limousine carrying Gambino family boss Paul Castellano pulled up to a red light on a side street near Grand Central Terminal in Midtown Manhattan. What he didn't know was that sitting right beside him in the next car over and hidden behind tinted windows was Gambino captain John Gotti — the man who was about to have Castellano murdered right then and there. Castellano was on his way to an early dinner meeting at Sparks Steak House on the next block. As soon as Gotti spotted Castellano at the traffic light, he radioed in the assassination order: "Stopped at the light… the first car… coming through."
The moment Castellano opened his door and his feet hit the sidewalk in front of the restaurant, three gunmen disguised in long white trench coats and black Russian fur hats pulled out semi-automatic pistols and shot him dead in a hail of gunfire before calmly disappearing into the rush-hour crowd. After the hit was done, Gotti pulled out from his parking spot and drove slowly past the bodies of Castellano and his driver (pictured above) to make sure they were dead before heading back toward Brooklyn to assume control of the Gambino family.

It's all about that bullshit sense of entitlement that some people have that they think they can get away with whatever the fuck they want because they're confident most people won't tell them they're doing something stupid or unacceptable. Back in the day, if a woman hadda feed her kid, she'd whip a bottle out of her purse and be done with it. No, this chic thinks it's okay to whip a tit out in public because she thinks she's cool. Somebody shoulda smacked her in the back of the fuckin' head just for the fuck of it. Juss' sayin'...

Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara depicted Mary and Joseph as “outsiders,” comparable to illegal aliens, as he criticized the Trump administration’s immigration policies.
During a speech alongside Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey (D) and religious leaders, O’Hara spoke about how it was a “very, very difficult time” for the communities in the city, as U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents have been enforcing the nation’s immigration laws.

This is Don Featherstone. An artist and designer, he is also the creator of the original Plastic Lawn Flamingo (while he was working for the Union Products Company in Massachusetts). He's pictured on his own front lawn in 1957. The State of Florida should name a highway after this guy...

Pornhub has since reached out to more than 200 million premium users, warning their data may have been stolen during the breach. How profitable is that fuckin' business? Hackers are said to be extorting the pornography platform after search and watch history was reportedly stolen.
According to MailOnline, the adult site confirmed “unauthorised access” had been gained through a third party data company. It said: “We recently learned that an unauthorised party gained unauthorised access to analytics data stored with Mixpanel, a third-party data analytics service provider.
Maybe it's just me, but I've never seen the attraction of this shit. I mean, I can go back to the one time I went to see a porn movie at a Times Square movie house in the late 70's. The place was disgusting,  the people were creepy, and the movie was stupid, but that's just my opinion.
I read the other day that something like 40% of ALL internet traffic is about porn in one way or another. That number boggles the mind...

Looking back. Way back...

Saturday matinees at the Elwood Theatre in Newark, NJ. There'd be at least two but more likely three movies, a short film or two and a couple cartoons. Cokes were ten cents and popcorn 15. The audience would be 98% kids, and there wouldn't be any trouble. Parents drop you off at 10:45 and pick you up at 4:00. Very innocent, very different times...

Can we just get rid of all these geniuses and their 'predictions?

It's pretty safe to make a prediction thats 18 years out, isn't it, Skippy? 'Cause if you're wrong, nobody'll remember, will they? The uptick in seismic activity has raised concerns among some residents - most of whom are afraid of their own shadows -  with fears that the clusters of quakes could be a warning sign of a much larger earthquake. However, experts say the small tremors do not indicate that a major event is imminent. But, the again...
USGS research geophysicist Annemarie Baltay said she is not unusually concerned that the recent earthquakes signal anything larger on the horizon for San Ramon. 'These small events, as all small events are, are not indicative of an impending large earthquake,' Baltay told Patch.

'However, we live in earthquake country, so we should always be prepared for a large event,' she said. 'There is a 72 percent chance of a magnitude 6.7 or larger earthquake occurring anywhere in the Bay Area between now and 2043. So we should all be aware and be prepared.'

Of course they're real - WTF were you thinking? Them boobies is original equipment, pal...

She was quizzed by her co-star Amanda Seyfried, 40, with the lie detector test for Vanity Fair. Mamma Mia’s Amanda said: “I just have to ask, are your boobs real?” to which Sydney replied: “Yes.” She continued: “Have you ever had any work done on them?” Sydney responded: “No, I’ve never gotten any work done anywhere.”
The assistant operating the test then commented: “That was truthful.” Amanda then asked: “Can I touch them?”

Euphoria and White Lotus actress Sydney previously revealed she had considered having a breast reduction while in school, although her mum convinced her not to. Thank goodness her Mom talked her out of it...

As we get older., do we get better? Well, some of us (me) certainly do...

Aging is inevitable. But how you age? That’s largely up to you. One thing that’s always fascinated me is the massive difference in how people age. Some people seem old at 60. Others are still vibrant and sharp at 85. The difference isn’t just genetics. It’s habits, mindset, and lifestyle choices compounded over decades.
If you’re over 70 and can still do the things on this list without struggle, you’re in rare company. You’re aging better than the vast majority of your peers.
These aren’t about running marathons or doing CrossFit. They’re about fundamental markers of physical, cognitive, and emotional health that predict longevity and quality of life.

1) You can get up from the floor without using your hands
2) You still learn new things regularly
3) You can hold a conversation without bringing everything back to yourself
4) You sleep well most nights
5) You have genuine friendships, not just acquaintances
6) You can adapt to changes without spiraling
7) You move every day without it being a battle
8) You can laugh at yourself

If you’re over 70 and you can do most or all of these things, celebrate it. You’re not just lucky. You’ve earned this through choices you’ve made over a lifetime. You’re aging better than the vast majority of people your age. And that’s worth acknowledging and appreciating.

Keep doing what you’re doing. Keep moving. Keep learning. Keep connecting. Keep adapting. Keep laughing. Because the goal isn’t just to live longer. It’s to live well for as long as you live. And based on these markers, you’re absolutely crushing it.

Do you have gout like I do?
If so, this is the best answer for that pain...

Friend of mine turned me on to this about 20 years ago when I first started feeling
the symptoms of gout in my big right toe. Long story short, I haven't had a gout
attack in at least 10 years - maybe more. The black cherry concentrate does one
thing, and only one thing. It eliminates Uric Acid in your system - that's all it
does. And it works better  than any drug any doctor can prescribe. If you have
gout, buy a bottle and take two a day, that's all. See for yourself if it doesn't
work. Trust me - it does. Click the picture.
