College football has lost any credibility it used to have...

The under-the-table shit from boosters and sponsors was once looked at as hsady doings and kids lost their scholarship over accusations. Now, the collegs are paying teenagers millions of dollars just to play football. Teenagers. Football. Millions of dollars.
'True freshman' quarterback Bryce Underwood has been given the nod as Michigan's starter this year. Underwood, who joined Michigan on a $12.5 million NIL deal, was announced as Michigan's started by head coach Sherrone Moore on Monday. "He’s earned the opportunity," Moore said. "It was not given to him. He took ownership of the team."

What an incredible bunch of shit coming from the coach. Sherrone Moore signed a five-year, $27.5 million contract with Michigan, earning a $5.5 million base salary in 2024 that increases by 2% annually. In addition to the base pay, he is eligible for a $500,000 'retention bonus' each year and up to $3.5 million in performance-based incentives for winning championships.

  2. The kid won't see a dime of that money. All of his "cousins, aunties, uncs and hangers-on" will syphon funds off of him. Not to mention the parental units that will take their share "because we borned him..." And the kid hasn't even proven himself.

    1. Like most other black multi-millionaire sports figures, he will use that money to help pull other destitute blacks out of poverty....
Oh! Wait !! That's only on Bizarro World !

  3. For me college football has gone the way of the pros and I waved bye bye to that CF when the kneeling started and I was already disgusted by all the showboating. I remember Tom Osborne telling one of the players who scored a touchdown and then went into his dance to act like he'd been there before.

  4. A number of years ago one major college coach was able to recruit a player everyone was going after. He did it again during a following year. Then he ran out of daughters. Can leave a guy with a jaundiced view of college football.

  5. Even worse is the killing of the traditional conferences. And that was done by the university presidents themselves. All for greed. Well, I was there for the good days. Saw Archie’s first play from scrimmage. Woody didn’t even start him that day. Was at Purdue back when they played football. Saw Griese’s last season.

  6. Just one small thing: I would like to see a law prohibiting the use of tuition money from students or federal government funds being used to pay athletes.

  7. D1 college football is now destroyed. Personally I dont care, but dont give these kids and dirt ball coaches/ie recruiters tens of millions of dollars and then the same "colleges" turn around and whine for taxpayer money. Then give illegals free tuition while I am helping my children pay the astronomical costs for my grandchildrens tuition. Note that I discourage my grand kids going to D1 colleges, although one is in grad school at a D1 loony bin. (Physical Therapist doc)
