ResponderEliminarNot to take away from Burriss' accomplishment, but this event took place in April 1945, but I can easily imagine the conversation going something like this:
ResponderEliminarBurriss: "General, we are here to accept the surrender of your division."
General: "Where the hell have you people been?"
The conference the General had with his staff probably went something like this:
General: "Should we surrender to these Americans?"
Staff: "Would you rather wait and surrender to the Russians?"
And you probably didn't want to play poker with Burriss, either.
