One of the coolest things about living he in Florida is exactly that. Our Governor has come out and publicly stated that if you are in your vehicle and are 'threatened' in any way by any demonstrator, you have every right 'to defend yourself in any manner you feel appropriate to the situation' (my interpretation). DeSantis did not directly say Floridians can "drive over" or "run over", but taking the full context of his quote into consideration, it is accurate to summarize his comments as such. That's how, I guess, that guy interpreted it - ergo the costume. Just fuckin' brilliant. Well played indeed...

What the governor says isn't really relevant. What does the LAW say. Unless it explicitly grants drivers protections if they hit or run over violet protesters blocking roads they are NOT protected. A DA/Prosecutor can and likely will charge anyone who harms someone blocking a road unless they are actually shooting at a vehicle...and even then there's no guarantee. Again....protections like this must be codified into law.
