Can you even grow hops in Alaska? Having to truck in everything instead of growing your own might have something to do with it.
ResponderEliminarI am going to guess that any and all beer sold in Alaska comes from the "lower 48" and you pay the shipping costs.
EliminarSurprisingly, there are several really good breweries up here. There are half a dozen here in Fairbanks.
EliminarVisited Australia three times, beer was about fifty-five bucks a case.

ResponderEliminarBud Lite? Hell, I thought they couldn't GIVE that stuff away!

EliminarYa gotta take into account the shipping costs to any of the bush villages that allow alcohol. There aren’t many, but those that do have to have it shipped by air. Beer’s heavy & bulky, costs a lot to ship. Same with soda, gatorade type stuff & those crap energy things.
ResponderEliminarI can say with all assurance that those two beers would never cost me one thin dime.
ResponderEliminarI vividly remember buying a case of Budweiser for $9.99 in New Jersey back in the early 1980’s.
ResponderEliminarI also remember buying THREE cases of Pfeiffer beer (UGH!) for $10.00 in Minnesota in the early 1970’s.
But they did not compare Real Beer. Do it again with Yuengling and another not light beer.
